To add a partner to an investment, navigate to the funded company’s profile and click Edit at the top right of the profile to begin.
Scroll down to the Funding Rounds section and click the pencil icon in line with the round you want to update. If the round is not already listed on Crunchbase, please visit our guide on how to add a funding round here. For this situation, we’ll be updating Pied Piper’s existing Series A round:
Once you’re on the funding round’s edit page, scroll down to the Investors section and click on the pencil icon in line with the firm you’d like to add a partner to. If the firm has not been added to the round yet, please click here to learn how to add an investor to a funding round.
Scroll down to the Partners sections and if the person already has an existing Crunchbase profile, all you need to do is type their name into the search bar and select the correct profile from the dropdown to add them as a partner.
Note: If the partner you are attempting to add has a Crunchbase profile, and is not appearing in the search you will need to update their profile type to Individual Investor. To learn how to do make this update, please click here.
If the partner you are attempting to add does not have a Crunchbase profile, you will need to click on Create New Partner which will take you to the Edit New Person page.
Even though only the First Name and Last Name fields are required, please fill in as many details as possible in order to create a complete Crunchbase profile. Once you’ve finished adding the partner’s details, click on Continue at the top right or bottom of the page.
This will take you back to the Edit Investment page where you can add another partner or click Continue at the top right or bottom of the page if you’re finished making changes. Then, click Continue on the Edit Funding Round page and then Save All Edits to apply your updates to the profile.
