In the edit screen, scroll down to the Funding Rounds section and click the pencil icon in line with the round you want to update. If the round is not already listed on Crunchbase, please visit our guide on how to add a funding round here.  For this situation, we’ll be updating Pied Piper’s existing Series B round:

Once in the funding round’s edit page, scroll down to the Investors section and click on Create New Investment:

If the person or firm already has an existing Crunchbase profile, you simply need to type their name into the search bar and select the correct profile to begin adding them as an investor:

If you are finished making your edits, click Continue at either the bottom or top right of the page. This will take you back to the main edit page for the company where you can Save All Edits at the top right of the page.

Note: If you are attempting to add a person as an investor who has an existing Crunchbase profile, but is not appearing in the investor search bar, you will need to change their profile type to Individual Investor (if it is a person you want to add). If you're looking to list an organization as an investor but they're also not appearing in the investor search bar (but they do have a profile), you'll need to change their profile type to Investment Firm. To learn how to make this edit please click here.

If the person or organization you are attempting to add does not have a Crunchbase profile, you can create a new profile by clicking Create New Investor and selecting either Organization - Investment Firm or Person - Individual Investor from the dropdown:

Depending on your selection, you will be taken to the Edit New Organization or Edit New Person page. Even though only few fields are required (Name and Description for an Organization & First and Last Name for a Person), please fill in as many details as possible in order to create a complete Crunchbase profile.

Unless you are adding an additional investment to this investor’s profile, you do not need to click Create New Investment on the Edit New Organization or Edit New Person page as the original investment will already be queued to be added.

Once you have finished adding the new investor’s details, click on Continue at either the top or bottom of the page:

This will lead you to the Edit New Investment page where you can add any further details about the investment such as Lead Investor, Money Invested, and Partners. After adding any additional details, click Continue at the top or bottom of the page:

This will take you back to the main edit page for the funding round. To add another investor, repeat these steps, or if you are finished making your edits, click Continue at either the bottom or top right of the page. This will take you back to the main edit page for the company where you can Save All Edits at the top right of the page.
