To add an acquisition to a company profile, you must start from the acquirer’s profile

In this example, we'll say the company Pied Piper has acquired the company Hooli.xyz.

To begin, click the three-dot icon, and select 'Edit' at the upper right corner of the acquirer's profile.

Scroll to the Acquisitions section and select Create New Acquisition.

This will take you to the Edit New Acquisition page. If the acquiree already has an existing Crunchbase profile, you can look for it in the search bar and select the correct profile to begin adding the acquisition.

If there are no matching results in the search dropdown, this means the company does not have a Crunchbase profile yet. You can create a new profile from the same page by selecting Create New Organization.

This will lead you to the Edit New Organization page where you can add the acquired company’s details including Name, Logo, Description, Headquarters, and etc.

Even though only the Name and Description fields are required, please fill in as many details as possible in order to create a complete Crunchbase profile.

Once you are done filling out the page, click Continue at either the top or bottom of the page.

Your screen will return to the “Edit New Acquisition” page where you can fill out the “Add acquisition details” section and add a press reference about the acquisition:

Once you’ve finishing adding the acquisition details, click Continue at either the bottom or top right of the page. This will take you back to the main edit page for the company where you can Save All Edits at the top right of the page.

Congratulations! You are now done and should be able to see the acquisition reflected on both the acquirer and acquiree profiles.
