In your role, you may be tasked with identifying new targets for their outreach. With Crunchbase, you can search for specific companies and people to introduce to your product that fit your selected criteria.
The first thing you want to do is to segment your customer prospects, based on any number of facts such as company size, industry, and location of headquarters (i.e. territory). We’ll dive into each of these below.
The first thing you'd want to do is build a company search, by clicking Companies from the Advanced Search dropdown in the upper navigation bar.
Searching by Company Size
Let's say your target companies have somewhere between 101 and 500 employees. Open up the Overview filter icon and use the Number of Employees slider to choose the company size that fits your target market.
Watch as your results automatically update. You now have a list of companies that fit your criteria to go after!
Searching by Industry
Let’s narrow down your search further by focusing on a particular industry - we’ll use AI for our example.
Again, in the Overview filter section, input ‘Artificial Intelligence’ in the Industry search bar. The industry search box will help you search by autocompleting the terms you type. Select the sub-industries that fit your criteria, and watch your results update in real-time.

Searching by Headquarters Location
You can get even more granular in your Crunchbase search and identify companies by their headquarters location. Zoom in on your target criteria and narrow your results to focus on specific postal codes. *You can use the postal code filters for company searches.
Once again, you’ll find the postal code filter in the Overview section. Hit ‘Enter’ after each postal code to include multiple.
Click the Export button to export your search to a CSV. As a Crunchbase Pro customer, you can export up to 1k rows at a time, for a total of 2k exports per month.
