Competitors and Competitive Landscape Maps help you quickly understand how companies relate, compare, and compete within their markets.
-
Competitors provides a ranked list of comparable companies, helping you understand who competes most closely — with contextual reasons that highlight overlap across products, customer segments, and geography.
-
Competitive Landscape Maps visualize this same ranked data — showing how companies are positioned relative to one another based on key factors such as growth, maturity, and market activity.
Together, these tools offer a clear picture of the competitive landscape and make it easier to identify who’s emerging, who’s gaining traction, and where a company fits within its market.
How are Competitors generated?
This list is generated using Crunchbase's proprietary private company data, and AI-driven analysis of companies’ products and services. It produces an accurate, ranked view of true competitors by highlighting where companies meaningfully overlap.
Where can I find Competitors and Competitive Landscape Maps?
You find Competitors and Competitive Landscape Maps directly on company profiles, in the Market Intelligence Section. And as a search filter.
Why can I only see Competitors on certain profiles?
You may occasionally see a profile without competitor results. This can happen for a few reasons:
-
Missing or incomplete Products & Services data: Competitors relies heavily on Crunchbase’s unique Products and Services Data — if a company is missing Products and Services data, it’s incomplete, or the offerings are unclear, we may not have enough information to confidently identify competitors.
- This may also be the case for newly added companies if they are missing Products and Services Data.
- Insufficient data to suggest competitive similarities: In some cases, no other companies in Crunchbase meet the threshold to be considered true competitors. We only show competitor results when we have high confidence in the match.
If competitors are missing, the Competitive Landscape Map will not be shown.
How can I help generate Competitors on a particular profile?
If competitors look incorrect or are missing, you can help.
-
Report missing or inaccurate Products & Services Data. If P&S data is incorrect or incomplete, use the “Report” or “Suggest an Edit” option to submit the correct information.
- Providing accurate P&S details helps our system better understand what the company does — resulting in stronger competitor matches.
-
Share known competitors. If you know companies that should appear as competitors but aren’t listed, you can submit:
- Competitors you believe should be shown, or
-
A link to the company’s website describing its offerings
- This gives our team the information needed to generate competitor results for that profile.
- Keep company profile information up-to-date. Edit the profile to make sure the descriptions are accurate, industry tags and featured key words are appropriate, and more help to strengthen competitor comparisons.
- Engage with Competitors by using the thumbs up or thumbs down by each result.
Competitors and Competitive Landscape Maps are designed to give you a clear, data-backed view of how companies genuinely compare and compete.
Community contributions help ensure competitor results stay relevant and reliable — and help our models improve coverage and the quality of competitive comparisons.
