Market Maps are generated using Crunchbase’s proprietary private-company dataset, enriched with AI-derived growth indicators. Maps combine several types of market-level data to provide a clear, structured view of activity within a specific industry or segment.
Each Market Map incorporates:
- Private-company firmographics (industry, location, stage)
- Funding activity and patterns (historical and recent)
- Growth and momentum signals from Crunchbase’s predictive models
- Top investors by activity within the segment
- Indicators of potential category leaders, disruptors, and emerging players
- Summary metrics at the market level (e.g., total funding, average round size, growth distribution)

How Can I Interact With Market Maps?
While you cannot create fully custom Market Maps yet, you can customize any of the six pre-defined maps using interactive filters, including:
- Location
- Funding Stage
- Investor(s)
Filtering helps you refine the view to match your region, ICP, or market of interest.
Track Your Custom View
After applying filters, select Track to save that version of the map. Tracked maps will appear in Saved Searches, allowing you to revisit and monitor them over time.
