As historical data holds important value for both our platform and community, Crunchbase prefers not to remove profiles. Crunchbase data comes from multiple channels -- our active community of contributors, publicly available sources on the internet, and various data partners. Due to our crowdsourced nature, profiles that are removed may be re-added in the future by any of our sources.
Registered users can correct any inaccuracies on the profile. Learn more about how to edit a profile here.
If the reason for removal is due to the profile having been spammed with malicious or inaccurate information, you can report the spam to our team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Upon review, our team may then lock the profile and blacklist the user to prevent further spam.
However, if you do require that your Crunchbase profile be deleted, you may submit a request for removal to email@example.com for our team to review. Please include the following information in your request:
- a link to the crunchbase profile (e.g. https://www.crunchbase.com/person/bill-gates)
- the reason for removal
- the EU country whose law is pertinent to your request (if this is a GDPR-related request)
- any other information that provide more details on the request
When evaluating the request, our team will look at whether the profile includes outdated information, as well as whether there's any public news regarding the profile -- for example, we may decline to remove funding information that has been publicly announced or companies that have shut down business. You should expect to receive a response to your request within 2-3 business days.
