What exactly does this mean for you?
You’re required to migrate your Legacy Crunchbase API Key to a new Crunchbase API Key. Updating your key ensures long-term scalability for your integrations, seamless access to improved data quality, enhanced ease-of-use, and ultimately a better support experience.
This change applies to customers using our API, CSV exports, and Enrichment products — even if you don’t work directly with an API, your team may rely on a key behind the scenes.
Below, we’ll walk you through exactly what you need to do to complete your API key migration.
What do I need to do?
If you have a Legacy API key or CSV plan, you are required to migrate to a new Crunchbase API Key.
We’ve designed the process to be straightforward and as low-lift as possible. You should have received a notice from the Crunchbase team outlining:
- Your migration timeline and required completion date
- The steps to access your new API key
- Links to documentation and available support resources
Need a quick rundown? Here’s what to do:

Retrieve your new API key:
- Login to Crunchbase
- Go to Account Settings > Integrations > Crunchbase API.
- You’ll see your updated API package (the package will be reflective of your legacy plan’s access)
- Click “Show Key” to access your new API key

Understand how your team uses Crunchbase data:
- This will determine which migration guide to follow:
- Calling specific API Endpoints? Review this guide.
- Using CSV Exports? Review this guide.
- Using CRM Enrichment (like with our Salesforce Managed Package or Hubspot)? Review this guide.

Test and implement the new API key:
- Update all the relevant mappings
- Validate that your integration is working correctly
- Once you’ve completed that review, let our team know and we’ll deprecate your legacy API key
Please note: Once your Legacy API key is deprecated, it will no longer be usable. It is important that you test all the required mappings so no calls or queries break.
