IPO dates are incorrect
Dear Crunchbase Team,
I am currently looking at IPOs and noticed that several IPO dates are incorrect and wondered if you have a way to adjust those automatically?
Just one example: Workday
(https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/workday/financial_details)
According to the website the IPO Date was September 20, 2017. However, every only source confirms that its 2012 (even listed on Wikipedia). And when clicking on the Stock Symbol on the Crunchbase profile (NASDAQ:WDAY), Google Finances opens and when going to max. development, its clear to see that the stock is trading since 2012.
I read in another article that IPO dates are primarily from TradeView as partner, however I think there are severe errors in the data. And when going to the Crunchbase News section of Workday and scrolling to 2017, there is no mention of the IPO, but in 2012 there is.
I know the input is also based on community feedback and input and not everything can 100% be checked. But wouldnt it be easiest to use e.g. Google Finances (with the link already being implemented) or TradeView and checking the first day when a stock was traded as IPO date? In TradeView I can also see that the Workday stock was traded way before 2017.
Thanks a lot for your time and best regards,
Justin
