Crunchbase Basic API FAQ

The Crunchbase Basic API gives users access to basic data points such as organization name, description, address, and more. With the Basic API, registered users can test out enriching your internal tools and algorithms with Crunchbase firmographic data.

How do I get Basic API access? 

The Crunchbase Basic API is available in your account settings. You can generate an API key in Account Settings > Integrations > Crunchbase API.

As a Crunchbase Pro subscriber, what API data do I have access to?

As a Pro subscriber, you will have access to the Crunchbase Basic API. You can learn more about the Basic API here.

Does this affect any of my integrations I have now?

Generating a new Crunchbase Basic API will not affect any of your existing integrations like Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Email or any of your paid Enterprise API keys. 

What are the rate limits? 

The rate limit for ODM API plans are set at 25 API calls / minute.

User Key

Is there a delay after user key generation?

A 15 minute to 1 hour delay from when you generate the key to when you are able to start using it in API calls may occur. 

I forgot my user key. What should I do? 

You can obtain your user key by proceeding to Account Settings > Integrations > Crunchbase API from within your user account.

How do I disconnect access?

The Crunchbase Basic API key is a read only API. This means you do not need to disconnect any access if you wish to discontinue usage. 

The Crunchbase team, however, reserves the right to Suspend access to a user’s API key if we find misuse of our data.

I am having trouble making a call, where can I get support?
