Crunchbase's new API v4.0 delivers familiar entities and expanded data fields, but accessing them may look different.
Here are 3 of the most common use cases and how to achieve them more efficiently with API v4.0:
- Enrich Specific Data Via Entity Lookup API or Search API:
- Using the Entity Lookup API:
- With the Entity Lookup API (e.g. /entities/organizations/{entity_id}), you can request information for a specific entity (e.g. Airbnb) and specify which data fields and relationships are returned.
- Using the Search API
- If you do not need relationship information, you can also use our Search API to retrieve data fields for multiple entities.
- Using the Entity Lookup API:
- Prospect for Companies
- The prospecting power of Crunchbase Pro is now available in API v4.0 via our new Search API (e.g. /searches/organizations). With the Search API, you can now define a specific search criteria in the request body to return only the entities that match your search criteria.
- Ingest All Crunchbase Data Within A Collection
- With API v4.0, you now have the option to ingest all of our data via the API by using a combination of keyset pagination and the Search API.
- Note: if you prefer to ingest our data via a CSV, you can still do so with our CSV endpoint.
To gain further information and view specific examples of each use case, view our API documentation here.
If you are a current customer and are interested in achieving these or any other use case with the new API v4.0, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
If you are not a current customer but are interested in discussing your use case further, please reach out to sales@crunchbase.com.
