Crunchbase’s academic research access program provides researchers with the ability to receive either fully free or discounted access to the Crunchbase dataset on a case-by-case basis. Academics from recognized universities and institutions across the globe use Crunchbase data for research ranging from class projects to publishing research through academic journals.

You’ll need to submit the following in order to apply:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- LinkedIn or Twitter
- Organization Name
- Organization Website
- Organization’s Address
- Role at Organization
- Description of intended use of data
- Type of research you need
- Whether or not you plan to make your work available to the public
Keep in mind that academic research access is limited to individuals or entities engaged in graduate-level research at nationally recognized universities or reporting staff at major news organizations. The licensee may only use the Crunchbase data for research purposes with the goal of publishing that research through either an academic journal or major news outlet.
