With Crunchbase’s Predictions and Insights API package, you have access to funding predictions data. Funding Predictions utilize Crunchbase data, including historical performance, to forecast the likelihood of a private company securing funding in the near future. By analyzing patterns and trends from past data, this tool provides valuable insights to customers interested in identifying high-potential companies early on.

Funding Predictions gives you access to: 

  • Identifying High-Potential Investments: Identify startups that are likely to secure funding, allowing early investment and maximizing returns. Make data-driven decisions by analyzing prediction probabilities and supporting indicators like monthly visits, media sentiment, and financial growth
  • Spotting Market Shifts and Opportunities: Provides insights into which companies are likely to receive funding soon, helping to spot market shifts and new opportunities. By examining prediction probabilities and supporting indicators such as industry growth and patent milestones, you can compile comprehensive reports for clients
  • Targeting High-Growth Companies: Identify high-growth companies early on. By targeting companies with a high likelihood of securing funding, you can tailor your sales pitches and close deals more effectively

  1. Runway Speculation: Approaching 18-24+ months since the last funding round, the need for capital may be more probable
  2. Unicorn Status: Achieved unicorn status in the last 12 months
  3. Investor Reputation & Track Record: Investors have a strong track record of successful exits
  4. Board Reputation & Track Record: Members of the Board of Directors have a strong track record of successful exits
  5. New Board Member: New additions to the board or changes in governance in the last 12 months that might align with strategic pivots or preparation for major corporate moves like funding rounds
  6. Founder Track Record: The founder(s) have a history of raising funding rounds and successful exits
  7. Growing Industry: A similar company in the same industry raised a funding round or had a successful exit in the last 6 - 12 months
  8. Monthly Visits Growth: The company is experiencing a growth of 50% or more monthly users
  9. Media Coverage and Public Sentiment: A sudden increase in media coverage with positive public sentiment in the last 12 months
  10. Recent Patent Milestones: The company has recently filed a patent or a patent has been approved in the last 12 months
  11. Regulatory Certification Achieved: The company has recently received an important regulatory certification and may be looking to scale it’s operations
  12. Key Leadership Hire: A new C-level Officer (CXO) was hired in the last 12 months
  13. Product Launch: A new product or service was launched in the last 12 months
  14. Partnership Announcement: A new strategic partnership occurred in the last 12 months
  15. Market Share Expansion: Growth in market share and entry into new markets or industries.
  16. Product Usage Growth: Increased product engagement with existing or new features (e.g., WAU, website traffic, app downloads, etc.).
  17. Customer Growth: Increases in the number of customers or users.
  18. Headcount Growth: Hiring sprees and workforce expansions.
  19. Financial Growth: Increases in revenue, sales, earnings, profit margins, dividends, return on investment, stock performance, commercial contracts, and other key financial metrics.
