Growth insights in the Crunchbase API are organized into five core components:
- Growth direction (indicating whether the company is growing, stable, or declining)
- Growth confidence (the confidence level of the growth direction assessment)
- Supporting indicators (key data points used in the growth trajectory assessment)
- Summary (LLM-generated text)
- Sources (used to generate the summary)
You’ll be able to swiftly evaluate the growth potential of prospective investments, gain insight into the performance of private companies, identify companies exhibiting rapid growth within specific industries and more.
The following data will be included with Growth Insights:
- Recently Raised Funding: Funding or investment recently received.
- Financial Growth: Increases in revenue, sales, earnings, profit margins, dividends, return on investment, stock performance, commercial contracts, and other key financial metrics.
- Financial Decline: Declines in revenue, sales, earnings, profit margins, dividends, return on investment, stock performance, commercial contracts, and other financial metrics, including bankruptcy.
- Headcount Growth: Hiring sprees and workforce expansions.
- Headcount Reduction: Lay-offs, workforce reductions, and hiring freezes.
- Customer Growth: Increases in the number of customers or users.
- Customer Decline: Decreases in the number of customers or users.
- Product Usage Growth: Increased product engagement with existing or new features (e.g., WAU, website traffic, app downloads, etc.).
- Product Usage Decline: Decrease in product engagement of existing or new features. (e.g., WAU, website traffic, app downloads, etc.)
- Market Share Expansion: Growth in market share and entry into new markets or industries.
- Market Share Decline: Reductions in market share and exits from markets or industries.
- Operations Expansion: Acquisitions of new facilities, enhancements to existing facilities, and expansions into new regions (e.g., expanding services to Europe).
- Operations Contraction: Reductions or sales of facilities (e.g., selling a building) and exits from regions (e.g., ceasing services in Europe).
- Merger or Acquisition: Includes mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
